An Interview with Sizzy Rocket

We were lucky enough to have one of our favorite musicians, Sizzy Rocket chat with us!

So my first question is, what would your advice be to those still looking for ways to be fascinated with the lives they have? Even if it be a seemingly boring one?

I think most people look to big life moments for inspiration, like it’s supposed to be some sort of grandiose gesture, but the fascination is truly in the small moments and in the mundane. It’s a glance or a goodnight cigarette or laughing so hard your stomach hurts. Look t these moments.

What inspires you to create? Any advice for young girls who are trying their best to express themselves on social media platforms?

Just keep going. Keep creating and putting yourself out there. I know it’s cliche but that’s the only way anything has ever happened for me. And it’s really scary, but the reward is worth it. Also surround yourself with creative people who you trust and do stuff together all the time. It will only make you better.

How would you describe your art?

Loud, messy, chaotic, hyper-emotional.

What inspired you to put together your new label Shiny Wet Machine and your new punk band?

I discovered Iggy Pop when I was 17 and it changed my life and everything made sense. Punk is just me. I know it’s technically a descriptor for the way a type of music sounds but it’s also the way that I think and behave and dress. I was born rebellious. So when I met Alex starting a band that reflected the way I felt just made sense.

Who are your muses?

There is a boy I know in Los Angeles right now with big blue eyes he is my muse.

What’s on your playlist?

LCD Soundsystem, Peaches, the new MIA and Frank Ocean records, The Runaways.

Thank you so much for taking time to answer these questions. Never stop creating. Long live the cult!
