Places I Love, Places I Have Felt Loved

dsc_0003

there is comfort in small places
like the grass patch behind the gas station,
the one next to the car wash
where we drink icees and talk about love
or the top floor of a parking garage
in a city i never want to let go of

jones soda and film cameras
(I will stand on the tallest pillar and look at the little cars in a little city)
or the panera we sat talking for an hour and a half after closing
we stayed there for seven hours
and wrote pretty things,
took pretty pictures
and none of it ever ended
because there is comfort in small places,
and there is comfort with you
