Her: A Poem

HER by Kay
From the moment I wake

to the moment I sleep

All I can think

about is what it would feel like

to have your breath on my lips.

To feel the warmth of your skin

underneath my hands.

To see the light

in your eyes,

when you speak about

what you love.

But as I kiss you

I feel the emptiness.

As I hug you,

the hollowness seeps

into my body.

Your soul is fragile,

easily broken by

small words.

And as I look deeper

your eyes turn

into the colour of confusion,

reminding me of stained glass

You could see out,

but you forbid others

to look in.

And that’s when

I started to realize.

That she is broken,

but in the most

beautiful way.
